It was published approximately 1789 under the composer name Giovanni Punto. It was the second of three quintets. Fortunately, the print names Rosetti as the composer in very small letters. The composition was arranged by Giovanni Punto. This quintet is better known in the instrumentation for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and English horn in which the English horn was often replaced by a horn and a wind quintet therefore arose. The autograph of this composition (Murray B6) is kept in the university library Augsburg. The original composition is in e flat major. It was not printed to life times of Rosetti. Since arranging was a component of the performance practice and music culture then and by such a famous musician as Punto was, the music is today not less essential. It contains three quintets for horn, flute or oboe, violin, viola and basso. The title says: Trios Quintetti// Compose par M.Punto The first quintet seems to be of Punto originally and it was probably also written for this instrumentation. However, there is a small signature in the second quintet that the composer was Rosetti, as well as the third quintet was composed by Fiorillo. It seems to be appropriate to publish the quintets in different editions to clarify the different composers. Whereas, the edition names Punto as the arranger of the second and third quintet. In his youth he received singing lessons from Fracasini and viola lessons from Bäuerle, both in Bamberg. He later expanded his repertoire to include playing the horn with one of the leading horn virtuosos of his time, Jan Vaclav Stich, better known as Giovanni Punto. From 1780 he probably accompanied Punto as a pianist on his travels through Europe. In 1789, Amon took a position as music director in Heilbronn, where he was also active as a publisher. In 1817 he was employed as a bandmaster at the court of Wallerstein. He died there in 1825. Fiorillo played the mandolin, violin and viola. He was in Poland 1780, lived in Riga 1782 probable as repetiteur and in Paris 1786.1791 he is named as viola player in England. The quintet on hand is the third of three quintets for horn, flute or oboe, violin, viola and basso, which were published under the name of the horn virtuoso Giovanni Punto about 1789 in the publishing house Sieber in Paris.
