Presented in the opening section, Red, are the two planes which underpin the forging of the whole work’s narrative. The first plane is the ‘layer of consciousness’, while the second is the ‘layer of subconsciousness’. The ‘layer of consciousness’ is different in each of the sections: Red is dominated by the notes e, e flat and a; Blue by a, b flat and e; Green by g and e.
